I give God thanks for Blair and the assistance I received from her team at GMEAN. It was a GOD-SEND as I got very little help from my own family. As a victim of Domestic Violence (DV), I know what it is to be ostracized, when I decided to get out of an abusive marriage. Everything was complicated by the fact that I was married to what we call a “man of the cloth” or a preacher. I had to seek the help of the government to get out of a toxic marriage, and so a lot of people who would come to help me from the church community turned their backs on me and I was seen as an outcast.
The cultural poison was so strong that getting the proper help to pack and relocate almost seemed hopeless.
I was involved in a motor vehicle accident in 2015 and it left me in a powered wheelchair. With limited financial help and mobility, it seemed almost hopeless; but I held on to my faith and the WORD of the God that says, “with God all things are possible.”
I was introduced to Blair Brown and her organization through a mutual friend. Blair mobilized a team and for 3 weeks made the 20 minute drive to my house and totally took charge. They packed, rented a moving van and a storage space, and moved me to a safe place, to accommodate my wheelchair, and all in time to meet the deadline that I was given.
Blair and the team from GMEAN, were considerate and very understanding. To date, they are ensuring that I am ok!
I just want to share my story so others will know that there are still compassionate individuals and organizations out there that represent the love of the Heavenly Father. I am thankful for all the help I received. Thank you Blair and thank you GMEAN.
